What We Offer



Gr R Programme


Our Grade R programme is exceptionally well rounded and produces learners ready and confident to take on formal schooling in Grade One.

In addition to the required CAPS Language, Numeracy and Life Skills presented in our School Readiness programme, our children are exposed to computer literacy, the amazing “Time2Read” programme, Coding and Robotics presented by “Young Engineers”, the Lego Six Bricks programme and many exciting theme days to ensure learning is always loads of fun.

 

 

We Love Reading at HPPS

 

The “Time2Read” programme is introduced in Grade 000 and culminates in Grade R with the children blending sounds and starting on the exciting road to reading. Extension reading groups enjoy the benefits of a dedicated Reading Room with reading lessons taught by our Principal. Our children are also exposed to the Letterland programme from Grade 00.

 

 

E-Motion

 

E-Motion is a programme that teaches children to deal with their emotions in a positive manner through creative gross motor activities. Each class enjoys a stimulating hour long lesson once a week where they are able to freely explore the different activities on offer.

 

Extra Murals

 

A variety of activities are offered in our Extra Mural programme including Little Strikers Soccer, Hip Hop dance, Actionball, Highway Gymnastics and Ballet with Lana Robert’s School of Dance.

 

 

Outings and Entertainment

 

Our children’s horizons are continually expanded with educational outings to places of interest and visits to the school from production companies such as “PuppetWorld” and “Hooked on Books.”
